Vice President, Finance

John Kaelle is Vice President of Finance, and is responsible for all finance and accounting operations. In this role, John oversees the functions that support Shutterfly’s growth including financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, internal controls, tax, treasury and risk management.

Prior to joining Shutterfly, John was Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Thomas Weisel Partners, where his investment banking experience included advisory roles on the Business Objects acquisition of Crystal Decisions and Inktomi’s sale to Yahoo. John also held management positions at TriNet Corporate Realty Trust and Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers).

John earned a BA in economics from the University of Michigan, his MA in taxation from Golden Gate University and his MBA in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. John spends his free time with his wife and their twin son and daughter, and he enjoys taking pictures with his Canon Digital Rebel XT.
