Vice President of Product Management & User Experience

Ishantha Lokuge is Vice President of Product Management & User Experience, responsible for driving the overall product strategy and execution at Shutterfly. Ishantha joined the Company in 2006 as Sr. Director of User Experience, and assumed responsibility for Product Management for the Shutterfly Services Business in mid-2007.

As a product visionary with more than 15 years of experience, Ishantha designed and led multiple product initiatives for top consumer Internet and software companies including eBay, Netscape, Healtheon/WebMD and Silicon Graphics. He has several patents in web technologies, user experience, collaborative commerce and community.

Prior to Shutterfly, Ishantha was a Director at eBay, where he led the Selling Experience team, which included eBay Stores and Seller Tools. Before eBay, Ishantha was CEO and co-founder of Urbanpixel, one of the first online social networking companies that integrated commerce, user-generated content and community.

Ishantha earned a Masters in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab. He also holds a Masters in Computer Science from Tufts University and Bachelors with Highest Honors in Computer Science from Brandeis University.

In his free time, Ishantha enjoys painting, performing close-up magic, playing tennis and ping pong. He loves taking memorable pictures of his family with his Digital Canon Rebel.
