Director of Customer Acquisition
The Director of Customer Acquisition will be a key member of the Marketing team, reporting to the Vice President of Customer Marketing. He/she will manage the strategy and team responsible for acquiring new customers across all channels, including online media, search, affiliate and partner channels. This person will be drive the development and execution of an integrated plan to move prospects from awareness to consideration to purchase.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to efficiently scale new customer acquisition through multiple online and partner marketing channels.
- Work with business development to identify prospective strategic partners, develop marketing programs and associated deal terms as well as manage key acquisition partners once launched.
- Plan and evaluate funnel optimization programs that increase conversion of site visitors and registrants to customers.
- Build Shutterfly brand awareness, interest and trial through development of effective online creative with agency and internal resources.
- Manage all activities to budget and efficiency goals.
- Develop and retain a talented team of marketing managers responsible for online advertising, search, affiliate, and partner programs.
- Work closely with other members of the CRM and Product Marketing teams to grow Shutterfly leadership share in the online photo services category.
Metrics:
- # of new customers acquired
- New customer revenue driven
- Cost per new customer acquired
- Activation of new registrants to new customers
Key Skills and Experiences:
- 12+ years of marketing experience
- 5+ years of e-commerce marketing experience including creating, launching and measuring direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns with search engines, affiliates, and online partners
- Knowledge of direct marketing segmentation, testing and measurement techniques
- Demonstrated leadership experience and results managing high performing teams
- Experience with managing external agencies and partners to maximize return
- Proactive, energetic, self-starter looking to have a significant impact on business success
- Passion for the Shutterfly customer and meeting their needs to be thoughtful and creative with photos
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytic skills with proficiency in Excel and Access
