Transportation Analyst

The addition of a transportation analyst will provide the resources to achieve Transportation’s key objectives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage carrier relationships including carrier development.
  • Develop operating plans with carriers and internal and third party fulfillment facilities to meet service level agreements and seasonal volume changes.
  • Manage Transportation projects across different functional groups to improve service and cost performance. Develop and present transportation recommendations and strategies based on data analysis and modeling.
  • Support the requirements definition, evaluation, selection, and implementation of a Transportation Management System.
  • Publish weekly and monthly Transportation service and cost reports. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and correct sub-standard performance.
  • Manage process of auditing freight bills and reconciling invoices.

Specific knowledge, application, technical, educational, and/or management skills required to perform duties as specified:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain Management; Bachelors in Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research required
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work across functional groups
    * Knowledge of all modes of transportation, including comparative differences between various modes, and the effects of those differences
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Transportation Management Systems
  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation as needed
  • Strong Excel, Word, Access and Power Point skills
