Sr. Manager, Engineering - Infrastructure

Shutterfly is looking for a Software Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to join a small and diverse software team in developing infrastructure components, integrate varied output devices such as digital printers and presses, as well as integrate automated equipment used to manufacture, package and ship products in the Shutterfly printing and production facility.

Responsibilities:

• Acquiring a deep understanding of the technologies and architecture of the software and the production environment
• Design and development of scalable, data-intensive infrastructure
• Architecture design, database schema design, software design and implementation
• Develop web front end for commercial printing initiative
• This position will be located in our Phoenix, AZ facility

Qualifications:

• 5+ years programming experience
• Strong experience developing data-intensive web applications in a highly available production environment
• Expert in common web technologies/framework/infrastructures. (struts, springs, tiles, etc)
• Knowledge of web presentation technologies (DHTML, js, css, gwt, etc)
• Knowledge of web-based remoting methods (SOAP, REST-based design, RPC, AJAX, etc)
• Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented programming and design
• Ability to understand large complex systems
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced company with short release cycles
• Strong knowledge of Java, C++ a plus
• Excellent communication and personal skills
• BS / MS in Computer Science desirable
