Director, Marketing Planning

Reporting to the VP of Customer Marketing & eCommerce, the Director of Marketing Planning will lead the development of Shutterfly’s marketing planning for our key imperatives in both Products and Services, managing a team to craft integrated marketing plans as well as drive incremental marketing initiatives to deliver against our business goals. This role, along with their business and product counterparts, will serve as critical contributors to a core team responsible for driving growth against the company’s key strategic imperatives.

Responsibilities Include:

• Developing marketing strategies for our company imperatives, including deep understanding of customer needs, barriers and levers; developing positioning and messaging against key target segments and drive times.
• Developing and executing annual marketing plans, with quarterly updates, to deliver on business and customer goals. This includes closely collaborating with key business, product as well as marketing counterparts in acquisition, brand, CRM and eCommerce to develop integrated plans.
• Driving incremental cross-channel programs to achieve growth objectives, potentially including grass-roots efforts or selected strategic marketing partnerships.
• Developing a communication strategy and driving alignment of all related marketing communications to ensure consistency.
• Acting as champion/consultant for imperatives across the marketing organization.
• Participation in business planning.

Key Skills and Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, with specific experience in consumer driven brands and digital marketing.
• Solid understanding of retail and ecommerce.
• Proven track record in developing integrated marketing plans in a highly competitive market space.
• Proactive, energetic, self-starter looking to have a significant impact on business success
• Balanced leadership style that allows for strategic and business skills, a high level of intellectual agility and capacity for original thoughts, and the ability to be hands-on and lead by example.
• The ability to successfully develop and execute programs utilizing both direct resources as well as matrix resources.
• Success in a matrix organization and a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Leader and motivator of teams.
• MBA preferred.
