Shutterfly Gallery > Guidelines

Welcome! Shutterfly Gallery is fun and safe community environment where you can be inspired, be noticed and of course, be connected with others. We want this to be an enjoyable experience for everyone so feel free to take a few minutes to read through these guidelines before you get started. You can always review our Terms of Use for all of the nitty, gritty details.

Be considerate. New stories are being posted every day. Each story belongs to someone so think before you comment. At the same time, when it comes to your own story, ask yourself if you would share it with your own family. If not, it might not be something you should post for others to see.

Be positive and supportive. Everyone’s story took some time to create (even yours!) so applaud the effort! Leaving positive and encouraging comments for someone is a great way to express your own thoughts and helps shape a fun and lively community.

Be responsible. Respect the copyright of others. This means don’t post something that isn’t yours such as pictures you didn’t take or don’t have permission to use or a photo book that you didn’t create. If we’re notified that something you posted is questionable, we will contact you to find out more.

If you’re truly impressed with a photo book, you can either just save it in your favorites list by selecting “Save to favorites” or you can make your own version by selecting “Make one like this”. This feature will remove the original pictures and text but leave the backgrounds and layouts. Then, all you have to do is add your own pictures and text to make it your own.

Be conscientious. Refrain from using offensive imagery or nudity as your personal icon, using profanity in your comments or harassing other community members. The Gallery is full of interesting points of view and various ways to express yourself. We hope that all of them are kept clean. Being forced to police the Gallery is not something that want to do, but will definitely do to keep the experience great for everyone.

Be active and have fun. See the world through other’s eyes, participate by posting your own story or leaving a nice comment about someone else’s, make new friends and explore all that is available to you. The Shutterfly Gallery was created with you in mind.

We’ve written these guidelines to ensure that everyone in the community has a wonderful experience in the Shutterfly Gallery. This is a safe and fun-loving environment and we expect that you understand the importance of respecting the community and moderating your content responsibly.

Remember, we want you to feel respected.
Since comments are a great way to compliment someone’s work or enhance the story that they’re already telling we know there might be times where someone might not be very nice so you always have the control to remove that comment or flag it as inappropriate if you wish. You can also flag entire photo books as inappropriate. If you ever choose to flag something as inappropriate, we will be notified and will begin to monitor the content in question.

Likewise, if you see a photo book with your pictures that you didn’t give permission for, first try contacting the person who posted the book to see if they can remove the picture(s). If your attempts doesn’t appear to work, you can contact us and we’ll work together to resolve the issue.

If you ever have any questions or comments, we’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to check out our Frequently Asked Questions or contact us at any time.

Thanks,
The Shutterfly Gallery Team
