Q: How do I create a calendar?

To create a calendar, sign in to your account, and click the Shutterfly Store button on the green navigation bar. Then click the Calendar option under 'Shop by category'.

Choose the starting month, and length of calendar

Choose the starting month for your calendar, and the number of months (12 or 18). Then click 'Get started'. On the next page, note the tips and then click the 'Collect pictures' button.

Choose up to 36 pictures

Select an album, and click 'next' to open it. Click the checkboxes below your pictures to select them for your calendar. You can select up to 36 pictures total. At this point, you can, if you wish, use the 'change album' link on the right to select pictures from a different album. When you've selected pictures, click 'Add to calendar'.

Review your calendar photos

Next, review your picture collection. At this point, you can add more pictures to your collection (up to 36 total). If you wish to remove any pictures from this collection, click the link on the right to go to the picture-removal page. We recommend removing any low-resolution pictures from the collection; low-resolution pictures (which are not recommended for printing) will be displayed on this page with a warning. When you are satisfied with your collection, click 'Next' to start assigning pictures to months.

Assign photos to months

Click on a month to choose a picture (or to change the picture). When you are choosing from your picture collection, pictures already in use in the calendar will be indicated by a calendar icon. On this page, you can also use the 'Fill empty months' link to fill in the rest of your calendar automatically. When you are done, click 'Next' to customize the cover.

Choose a cover picture

Click the cover to view your collection, and choose a picture to use as the cover. You can use any picture in your collection, even if you've used it elsewhere in your calendar. Enter a title for your calendar. (Please check spelling and grammar carefully!) When done, click 'Next' to preview your calendar.

Preview your calendar and (optional) enhance pictures

On the preview page, be sure to check each month of your calendar (and the cover as well). On this page, you can use the 'Enhance/edit this picture' link on the right to use borders, cropping, or effects. On this page, you can also change the picture for a particular month, and you can save the calendar as a project as well. Please be sure to preview your calendar carefully... it will be printed exactly as shown, and Shutterfly cannot be held responsible for unsatisfactory quality due to errors such as spelling, cropping, borders, or other customizations.

Select recipients

When you have previewed your calendar, click 'Next' to select recipients. Select recipients using the checkbox(es). From this page, you can add new recipients, and you can edit mailing addresses if necessary. When you've selected your recipients, click 'Next' to add your calendar(s) to your order.

Review quantities and recipients

Review the quantities and recipients for your calendar. From this page, you can change recipients, or you can remove items for a recipient. When done, click 'Go to cart'.

Review your order

In your cart, you can review the order and you can review discounts. You can add more items to your cart (such as prints or cards). When you are ready to place your order, click 'Go to checkout'.

Checkout

On the checkout page, proceed as you would using our secure shopping cart. You can edit your billing information if necessary. Finally, click 'Place my order now' to complete checkout and place your order.
