Q: What can I use my gift certificate for?
A: When you purchase an electronic gift certificate, we will send the recipient a special message, with your personal message and a link to the site where they can come to view and redeem their gift certificate. If the amount of the order exceeds the amount of the gift certificate, the recipient can use a credit card to pay for the balance of the order.

Q: Can I order more than one?
A: It is easy to order as many as you wish. You can continue to add gift certificates (or other Shutterfly merchandise) to your shopping cart and check out when you are ready.

Q: What if I wait until the last minute to order a gift certificate?
A: No problem, send the electronic version! You can choose the date the email greeting will be sent to your recipient. When the gift certificate is sent - on the date you have chosen - you will also receive a confirmation email.

Q: What will my recipient receive if I order an electronic gift certificate?
A: When you purchase an electronic gift certificate, we will send the recipient a special message and redemption code to use Shutterfly. The redemption code is a unique code that can be entered onto the billing page of the checkout process. If the amount of the order exceeds the amount of the gift certificate, the recipient can use a credit card to pay for the balance of the order.

Q: What if I want to hand-deliver a paper version?
A: Have the paper version sent to yourself; if you are out of time you can have the electronic version sent to you and you can print the email on your home printer.

Q: How do I know if I still have money left on my gift certificate?
A: You can check the balance of your gift certificate by going to My Shutterfly and clicking on 'View special offers'. You will be taken to a page that shows your gift certificate balance.

Q: Will my gift certificate be automatically applied to an order?
A: Yes, your gift certificate will automatically be applied; but during checkout, you can choose to not use it on that particular order.

If you have a Gift certificate, but have not yet entered the code into your account, you will see a message on the right side of the checkout screen that says 'Have a gift certificate?' Under this is a link that says 'Redeem gift certificate'. Click this link and enter your gift certificate code here.

Q: Do I need a credit card to place an order, even if the gift certificate will cover the cost of the order?
A: Yes. For your order to authorize, you will need to enter a credit card number in the last step of the transaction; however, if your gift certificate will cover the cost of the order, the card will not be charged.

Q: Will my gift certificate expire?
A: No, Shutterfly gift certificates do not expire.

Q: What if I lose the email containing the gift certificate code?
A: If you lose your Gift certificate code contact Shutterfly Customer Service, and they will be happy to provide that information to you. It is helpful if you can provide the name or email address of the person who sent it to you.
