7 Fabulous Ways to Pamper Your Pet

7 Fabulous Ways to Pamper Your Pet

Pampered pets are happy pets! These affordable indulgences can help give your pet the royal treatment.

1. Give a Relaxing Massage

When pets are at play, they climb, jump, roll and run. After strenuous activity, they could use a good massage to help them relax and refresh. Take your pet to a professional pet masseuse, or learn how to massage your pet through pet-massage websites, books or classes.

2. Upgrade Their Bed

Pets spend a good amount of time sitting, resting or sleeping. Make sure they have a comfy, cozy spot to call their own. Visit a pet or other retail store, or check online for deals on a new bed for your furry friend. Consider a bed with faux leather or micro-suede fabric, or a waterproof bed that won’t absorb any accidents.

3. Get Them a Pawdicure

Many pets have nails that need to be trimmed regularly, so why not go the extra mile and give them a manicure? Take pets to a professional to have their nails trimmed, filed and painted a bright, playful, pet-friendly color. They’ll love the feel of freshly-manicured nails, and you’ll love the look.

4. Shop for Toys

Pets love to play with toys, so make sure they have plenty to keep them entertained. Throw away old or worn out toys, and replace them with fresh, un-chewed toys every few months. Keep toys germ-free by washing them in warm, soapy water.

5. Bring the Groomer Home

While some breeds of animals must be groomed regularly by a professional groomer, many breeds don’t have to be. Treat your pet to a home spa; give them a bath, blow-dry their hair and brush them. Make sure you document the entire experience — take before and after photos and create a keepsake photo book of their adventures.

6. Get Outdoors

If you own dogs, you know that they love to run and play in the fresh air. Find a dog park or dog-friendly facility and take your dogs out for a day of play. Make sure you’ve got a ball, Frisbee or other toys on hand, as well as plenty of snacks and water to keep your dog happy and hydrated.

7. Bake Tempting Treats

Pets love treats, so skip the pricey, store-bought offerings and start baking your own tasty and nutritious homemade delights. Check online or in a bookstore for reputable recipes, whip up a batch and watch your pets go wild for them. Give them as a reward or as a gift on their birthday or during the holidays.
