Gain: A method of adjusting the sensitivity of a CCD sensor's sensitivity to light.

GIF File Format (Graphic Interchange Format): (Pronounced "Jiff" or "Giff") A graphics file format that allows data compression and image files to be exchanged across multiple platforms, GIFs are widely used on the Web to display indexed-color graphics and images, but are inappropriate for digital photos and prints.

Gray Level: (See: Brightness)

Gigabyte: A data storage unit equal to 1,024 megabytes. Gigabyte will often be abbreviated as G or GB.

Graduation: The transition between black and white and from one color to another, or color deficiency.
