It’s the seasonal question that the sages have pondered since the dawn of humanity, or at least since sending holiday photo cards became popular. Which picture do I use for my annual holiday card?
There is no right or wrong way to navigate this process but here are a few tips to lessen your stress.
You have the picture
Candid or informally posed shots from a summer vacation or a family get-together are wonderful contenders for your annual holiday card.
You need the picture
Start by choosing the card, then orchestrate a holiday card photo shoot with your favorite card in mind. If your favorite card is a classic or traditional style, a formal family portrait may be the way to go. If your card is all about the lively holiday spirit, then focus on your family, kids or pets at their most natural and playful.
You have too many pictures
You don't have to choose just one picture. You can create a collage card and showcase up to nine pictures—great for showing baby's milestones or your summer travels.
No matter the direction you take, remember your holiday greeting card is a unique expression of who you are. Go with the picture and the card that is so obviously your style, no return address is required.
