There are so many big decisions to make when planning your wedding and yet it is the little details and personal touches that really make a wedding memorable. One important feature that is often overlooked is the Wedding Guest Book. It’s one of the first things that wedding guests encounter and it can become a wonderful and meaningful record of who celebrated the day with you.
Many couples choose to do an engagement photo shoot and use the images on their wedding website or display at the reception. Use these same pictures to create a personalized wedding reception guest book.

Daniel and Jessica created their personalized wedding guest book using their engagement photos and the result is lovely. Pictures of the couple are spread throughout a 20-page book with large white spaces where guests may sign or leave their well wishes. Jessica writes, “we had so much fun creating it, and the book was an instant hit at the reception. We love being able to reflect on what people wrote and the fun we had during the photo shoot.” |

Krystal and Eric also incorporated their engagement photo shoot pictures. To give their guests additional inspiration they added quotes about love as titles to some of the blank pages and titles like “memories of the couple” and “words of wisdom” to the remaining pages. Krystal says, “I wanted to have something personal at the wedding so guests could sign and give us their advice, wisdom and random thoughts. I love the finished product.” |

Ulysses and Shiela did the same but they used one of the Creating Keepsakes digital scrapbooking templates offered at Shutterfly for a rich, traditional wedding flavor. If you choose not to do an engagement photo shoot, it is just as easy to take your favorite pictures and recreate the story of your courtship. |

Combining the idea of the wedding guest book and the wedding slide show Jason and Nathalie created their unique wedding guest book using a variety of Shutterfly backgrounds to complement their photos from vacations, athletic pursuits and romantic dinners. And peppered between the pictures are blank pages where guests could sign. Nathalie writes, “I didn’t want to have a traditional sign-in book because I didn’t see the purpose in keeping a book with just signatures in it.” Their courtship story wedding guest book is far more meaningful to the couple; it sits on their coffee table at home. |

Rebecca and Dusty went even further back to show how it all began. Their guest book tells the story of their lives before and after they met, starting with childhood and ending with their wedding invitation. The last several pages of the book were left blank for guests to sign. |
The small touches are what will make your day meaningful to you and memorable to your loved ones. Take a moment to consider how you want to greet your guests and the tone you want to set on your wedding day. Then get started creating your own wedding guest book to use at your wedding.
