Q. What is the Shutterfly Affiliate Program?
A. The Shutterfly Affiliate Program is a way for you to earn commissions by introducing your customers to Shutterfly. The Shutterfly Affiliate Program compensates affiliates $6.00 per New Customer and 10% on sales for from New Customers for one year. For details on program terms and conditions, click here.

Q. How does the Shutterfly Affiliate Program work?
A. After you register and are accepted, you place links to Shutterfly on your Website. Whenever your customers register at Shutterfly through one of these links, and make their first purchase, you start earning commissions. Q. What does “New Customer” mean?
A. A “New Customer” is defined as an individual who registers for a Shutterfly account and places an order within 45 days of registering. For details on program terms and conditions, click here.

Q. What does “On Sales” mean?
A. Shutterlfy will pay affiliates a 10% share of print product revenue that is generated by New Customers for one-year. For details on program terms and conditions, click here.

Q. Who can become a Shutterfly Affiliate?
A. If you have a website, you are eligible to join the program. We allow websites outside the United States to participate. Our only restriction: Shutterfly does not permit affiliates that, in our sole discretion, link to or contain objectionable or offensive materials.

Q. Is the Affiliate Program free to join?
A. Yes! There is absolutely no cost to become a Shutterfly Affiliate. Start earning money today! Simply complete the application and you will be contacted with further instructions.

Q. How do I sign up?
A. First, you must read and accept our Affiliate Agreement, and then complete our online application form. After your application is submitted, we will contact you to let you know if you’ve been accepted as a Shutterfly Affiliate. We will provide you with information on how to get started. Q. Where can I get tips and information on increasing my commissions?

Q. Are there any restrictions?
A. There are cases where we cannot allow certain sites to participate in our Affiliate Program. We will evaluate your application in good faith and will notify you of your acceptance or rejection. We may reject your application if we determine, at our sole discretion, that your site is unsuitable for the Program. Unsuitable sites include those that:

  • Promote sexually explicit materials
  • Promote violence
  • Promote illegal activities
  • Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
  • Otherwise violate intellectual property rights
Please note that if we accept your application and your site is thereafter determined, at our sole discretion, to be unsuitable for the Program, we may terminate our relationship.

Q. How soon can I post Shutterfly links and start earning commissions?
A. Once your registration is processed and approved, LinkShare activates your sales tracking information and you can access Shutterfly’s banners and text links. When you post them to your site, you can begin earning money.

Q. How do I create links to my Website?
A. Once you have registered and been approved, LinkShare will contact you with a user name and password confirmation. Then you can access your Shutterfly account at LinkShare. Simply click on “Create Links,” and select Shutterfly from the list of merchants. You’ll be provided with a variety of banners, buttons and text links, which you can add to your site.

Q. Can I place Shutterfly links or banners anywhere on my site?
A. Absolutely. Because you understand your customers and their needs, you are in the best position to decide the placement of the Shutterfly links. Of course, optimizing the location of the links will increase your chances for click-throughs and sales — resulting in more commissions for you. Q. How many Shutterfly links can I use on my site?
A. Use as many as you like. Place Shutterfly banners, logos or links in different locations throughout your site. Sometimes a text link in conjunction with a banner ad will increase the click-through rate.

Q. How often can I get new banners?
A. Shutterfly’s design team offers a new selection of artwork on a regular basis. You can select banners and links through your LinkShare account, or choose to let the banners on your site change automatically — an easy way to ensure a fresh look.

Q. Who do I contact if I have technical problems with the banners and text links?
A. Shutterfly maintains a strict quality control process for the affiliates program in order to minimize such problems. However, due to the complexity of the tracking system, technical difficulties may arise for some affiliates. Q. What is Linkshare?
A. Shutterfly has teamed with Linkshare, a leader in third-party affiliate marketing programs. Once you sign up for our program, you’ll be taken to Linkshare’s site where you’ll create your own personal and secure account. Here you can log in at any time to get our banners and links, find out about commissions earned and even learn about how many impressions each of your links has received.

Q. What types of sales and revenue reports does Linkshare provide?
A. Among the greatest benefits LinkShare provides for affiliates is comprehensive reporting. Affiliates can use their reports to do a quick check on how much money they are earning, and to figure out what’s working and what isn’t. Q. How much money can I earn as a Shutterfly Affiliate?
A. There is no limit to what you can earn. Some of Shutterfly’s best affiliates earn more than $10,000 a month in commissions!

Q. How often do I get paid?
A. Commissions are sent out every month via check to all affiliates who have accumulated at least $25 in commissions. If you do not meet the $25 threshold in a given month then your commissions will roll to the next month until you meet the $25 threshold.
