2012 Holiday Cards
"Our family and friends loved our 2012 holiday cards! Normally we go to JCPenny to have our holiday pictures taken, but due to a timing and procrastination issue, we would not have recieved the cards back in time to mail them out before Christmas, so we pulled out the camera and the tripod and starting snapping pictures of the family. We uploaded the pictrues on Tuesday, ordered the cards on Wednesday and had cards in our hands by Friday. Now that we know how professional the cards came out, we will be ordering future holiday and special occasion cards from Shutterfly more often."

"I create art so instead of a photo of me, I send out a photo of an art piece on my Christmas Cards. This year I have used 3 different companies to create cards....shutterfly, my publisher, and thru my Mac photo program. Shutterfly was the best because of clarity and quality of digital photo, you can create on the front AND the back of the card, the fonts for changing type are expansive and the heavy weight card stock is a premium.
I also photographed and digitally enhanced photo's of my friends houses and created note cards with their homes on the front. Then will give them as Christmas gifts. Again the quality was superior and I am really pleased with the heavy weight card stock and lovely envelopes. I was also able to create return address labels with my design."

"I have been using Shutterfly for quite a while now (mostly for photo books) and they have continued to improve their tools to the point that I just love creating things with them. Of course, the more I get, the more I want. ;-) Sometimes I love a card/label design/color, but the photo orientation (landscape vs portrait) is wrong for the photo I want to use. But even my second choice turns out great! Just one tip for anyone going digital to print - remember that your photos will look brighter on a computer screen, so you may want to lighten some of them up for any printed versions. Maybe Shutterfly has suggested that and I've missed it. Anyway, thanks Shutterfly - you help the creative me and have become quite a friend. :-)"

"The cards were beautiful. The paper was very thick and made the cards feel more elegant. Our photo had a white background which looked perfect in this card."

"I love Shutterfly, this was the first project I did. Making Christmas cards was simple the hardest part was choosing a card. I liked so many and using the favorite's feature I was able to narrow it down. I was really surprised to receive an email when I was done that allowed me to track my package with Fed Ex daily. I received my cards pretty quick and I was really happy with the results. I love love them."
How to Keep Your Cool This Holiday Season
The holiday season is filled with joy, cheer and fun. However, all of this joy can really start to weigh you down if you’re overscheduled and overstressed. To make your life easier this holiday season, and more enjoyable, here are some helpful tips for reducing stress.
Before the Holidays
Getting ready for the holiday season is almost just as stressful as the season itself. Keep your cool while you’re getting ready for what’s to come by:
Getting organized—Make lists of tasks you need to complete and events you want to attend so that you know what’s coming up and when.
Sharing tasks—Don’t be afraid to ask others in your family to help you with everything on your to-do list.
Being realistic—Focus on the traditions you’ve created with your family instead of trying to create the perfect holiday.
Learning to say no—If you really feel like you can’t handle adding another thing to your plate, don’t feel bad about declining an invitation or a request to help.
It’s also a good idea to customize your holiday cards before the holiday whirlwind begins. Shutterfly makes this easy by providing you with a template you can cater according to your tastes and order in plenty of time.
During the Holidays
While you might not be able to avoid stress completely during the holidays, you can decide how you’ll respond to stressful situations. For instance, if you’re getting a little overwhelmed by all of the events on your calendar, take a little time for yourself to breathe, meditate and regroup. If at all possible, you should also try to maintain a regular sleep schedule, eat healthily and limit your intake of alcohol.
When the holiday season comes around, try to remember it only comes once a year. If you're hosting a Christmas party, we put together some creative and fun Christmas party ideas to help. With these tips and a healthy attitude towards managing your stress, you might just have your best holiday season yet.
