Your Baby is the Size of a Heirloom Tomato
Baby's brain is gaining all the senses that we have, and can now distinguish smells, tastes and vision. A waxy coating, called vernix caseos, is forming on the skin to protect it from the amniotic fluid, getting chapped or getting scratched. Without it, your baby would look very wrinkly upon birth. Thanks to cartilage turning to bone and neurons now connected between the brain and muscles, your baby is quickly figuring out how to move its whole body. It may feel like it is running in place inside your womb.
You may experience some pain in your lower abdomen, but this should be light and brief. Your skin may change too; patches of darkened skin or red hands are common, as a result of extra estrogen.
DID YOU KNOW?
The increased estrogen in your body increases pigment growth dramatically. Where sunscreen and limit your time outside in the sun.
