  1. IT'S YOUR SPACE, TOO. You'll be spending plenty of time in your baby's room so think about their needs and yours.
  2. TRY NOT TO OVER-DECORATE THE ROOM. You don't want too much clutter in your little one's space.
  3. KEEP THE SPACE OPEN. Children need plenty of room to move around and play, so make sure there's also lots of floor space.
  4. KEEP THINGS AT EYE LEVEL. Place storage bins where kids can pull them out and clean up after themselves.
  5. INVOLVE YOUR CHILD IN THE DECORATING PROCESS. Let them express their personality and allow them to help pick out colors, decor and furniture.
  6. CELEBRATE YOUR CHILD'S CREATIVITY AND SUCCESSES. Decorate their room with their own art, awards and photos. At Shutterfly, you can create imaginative canvas prints, mugs, pillows and more with your child's artwork and photos.
  7. THINK FUN AND PLAYFUL. When designing my Boho-Harmony themed room, I used fun decorations like flowers, butterflies and birds because I knew little girls would love it!
  8. GO WITH COZY AND CUDDLY ACCESSORIES. I created this cute, stuffed animal in bright pink and orange colors. This little acccent is not only a toy for your child, but a decorative accessory.
  9. WHIMSICAL ACCESSORIES MAKE WONDERFUL FINISHING TOUCHES. The more to look at the better!
