5 Creative Ways to Display Christmas Cards

One of the best things about the holidays is receiving holiday cards from all your loved ones. Whether you live in the same city or are miles away, Christmas cheer is always welcome.

Having your Christmas cards displayed in your home is not only a fun idea, but also gives us sweet reminders that make us smile. We’ve created five Christmas card display ideas that will go perfectly in any home. From Christmas wreath decor to fun Christmas frames, these ideas are simple and easy to make.

1. Christmas Frame

If you’re searching for a fun wall art idea, this Christmas card display will certainly stand out. Aside from being inexpensive, this craft is creative and suitable for any room in your home. If the room is color-themed, feel free to paint your frame in whatever color you’d like. We went with gold to give it that extra holiday cheer.

How to Make a Christmas Frame

Materials:

  • 18×24 frame
  • Christmas lights
  • Christmas cards
  • Sticker cardboard letters
  • Small clothespins
  • Hot glue gun
  • Additional decor

Step 1: Place the frame face down.

Step 2: Bring in your lights. You can use whichever ones you’d like but we decided on fairy, battery-operated lights since they are lightweight.

Step 3: Glue the lights in a zig-zag pattern across the frame. Make sure you stretch the lights on each side.

Step 4: Flip your frame over and attach your letters to the top of the frame.

Step 5: Attach your christmas cards with clothespins.

Step 6: Add cute details next to your cards and enjoy!

You can either lean this frame against the wall or hang it amongst other wall art. Do make sure you hide the cord behind the frame when doing so.

2. Creative Wall Display

Pretty bows are seen throughout the holidays such as on gifts and tree decorations. For this DIY wall art, incorporate a festive look with metallic ribbon, lights, and your favorite Christmas greetings. It’s easiest to first lay out the cards you’d like to use in each row to make sure they all go well together.

How to Make a Christmas Wall Display

Materials:

  • Ribbon
  • Christmas cards
  • Double sided tape
  • Fun decor
  • Scissors

Step 1: Cut out your ribbon in varying lengths. Make sure you measure your ribbon before cutting.

Step 2: Add your tape to the back of each ribbon piece.

Step 3: Place your first ribbon on the wall. Push down to secure it.

Step 4: Add double sided tape to the back of your card.

Step 5: Place the card on top of the ribbon. We suggest no more than four cards per line, as it can get heavy.

Step 6: Repeat until you’ve completed all rows.

Depending on your space, you can add additional decor such as small wreaths, leaves, bows and ornaments between the photos. If there is room below, create a pretty Christmas scene with artificial snow and figurines.

3. Clay Card Holders

If you don’t have wall space for a Christmas card display, you can add subtle pops of Christmas cards throughout your home. Clay card holders can be placed just about anywhere you’d like. You’ll be using paint to create this, so make them you’re in a well-ventilated area.
