Hanging Frames

There are many creative approaches to arranging hanging frames. You can create a gallery wall by grouping frames in a grid or an organic, freeform pattern. Mixing horizontal and vertical frames adds visual interest, and incorporating different frame finishes or mat styles can give a curated, eclectic look. For a clean, modern effect, try aligning frames in straight rows with equal spacing. Consider tracing your frame layouts on paper and taping them to the wall to experiment with arrangements before hanging.

To keep frames level, use two hangers spaced evenly apart on the back of each frame. This provides greater stability than a single hanger. After hanging, adjust with a level and add small felt pads to the bottom corners of the frame to help it stay in place and prevent shifting due to vibrations or movement.

Absolutely! Hanging frames are versatile and can showcase artwork, pressed flowers, children’s drawings, diplomas, fabric swatches, or even meaningful letters. Some people use frames to highlight travel souvenirs or mementos, making the display both personal and decorative.

Hanging frames are popular in living rooms, hallways, stairways, bedrooms, and entryways. They can also add personality to dining areas or reading nooks. Arranging frames above a console table, fireplace, or along a staircase wall creates a focal point and draws attention to treasured memories.

There’s no set rule—some people enjoy updating their displays seasonally, while others refresh them to celebrate milestones or new memories. Rotating artwork or photos a few times a year can keep your décor feeling fresh and allows you to highlight recent experiences or favorite moments.
