Portrait Wedding Invitation Cards

Portrait wedding invitation cards feature a vertical layout, with the design reading from top to bottom. This orientation creates a clear flow for your names, wedding date, venue, and celebration details, whether you prefer a classic, romantic, or modern look.

Include the couple’s names, a request to attend, the wedding date and time, and the ceremony venue and location. If the reception is at a different location, add those details or place them on a coordinating enclosure card. RSVP instructions and your wedding website can also go on a separate card to keep the main invitation uncluttered.

Start with your wedding’s overall style and color palette. Flowing typography and floral accents can suit a romantic celebration, while clean lines and restrained lettering can create a modern feel. Use the vertical layout to highlight your names, then arrange the event details beneath them in an easy-to-read order.

A couple’s photo can be part of a portrait wedding invitation design. Choose an image with room around the two of you so it can work with the wording rather than compete with it. A vertically composed engagement photo can complement the layout, while strong contrast between text and the image helps keep details readable.

Repeat a few key design elements across your invitations, RSVP cards, detail cards, ceremony programs, and thank-you cards. Consistent colors, typography, and motifs help connect each piece without requiring identical layouts. Let the invitation establish the style, then simplify or adapt that look for each piece.
