Wedding Season Announcements

Q: What is the difference between a wedding announcement and a wedding invitation?

A wedding announcement shares the news that you’re married, while a wedding invitation asks guests to attend your celebration. Wedding announcements are a thoughtful way to include loved ones who weren’t at the ceremony, whether you had an intimate gathering, a destination wedding, or an elopement.

Q: What should we include in a wedding announcement?

Include your names, the date you married, and a short message announcing the happy news. You can also add your wedding location, a favorite photo, or a heartfelt note to loved ones. Keep the wording focused on celebrating your marriage rather than inviting recipients to an event.

Q: When should we send wedding announcements?

Wedding announcements are typically sent shortly after the ceremony, often within the first few weeks. You can prepare the wording beforehand or wait until you have a favorite wedding photo. If you’re sharing the news later, a message such as “We’re delighted to share that we tied the knot” still feels warm and timely.

Q: How can we reflect the season in our wedding announcement?

Take inspiration from your wedding date, setting, and celebration colors. Soft floral accents can evoke spring, bright colors can reflect summer, rich earth tones can suggest fall, and deep hues can capture winter. Pair your seasonal style with wording and a photo that feel true to your relationship.

Q: How do we word a wedding announcement after an elopement?

Lead with the happy news and include a few meaningful details. For example: “We eloped! Avery and Jordan were married on June 14 in Charleston, South Carolina. We’re so excited to share our joy with you.” You don’t need to explain your decision to elope; a warm, celebratory message is enough.

Share the news that you’ve tied the knot with wedding season announcements for family and friends. Browse designs to find a look that reflects your celebration, whether you’re announcing an intimate ceremony or sharing the happy news with loved ones who couldn’t attend.
