Custom Wedding Announcement Ideas

Q: What are some creative ideas for custom wedding announcements?

Build your announcement around a favorite wedding portrait, a meaningful quote, or a brief story about your celebration. For an elopement, pair “We said ‘I do’” with a photo from your destination. For a classic look, let your names and wedding date take center stage with an elegant color palette.

Q: What should you include in a wedding announcement?

Include both partners’ names, your wedding date, and a short message sharing that you’re married. You can also add the ceremony location or a personal note to loved ones. Keep the wording focused on sharing your news rather than requesting attendance.

Q: How do you word a wedding announcement after a private ceremony?

Choose wording that celebrates your marriage and helps recipients feel included. For example: “In a small ceremony filled with love, we were married on June 14 in Charleston. We’re so happy to share this joyful news with you.” Add your names and adjust the details to reflect your day.

Q: How do you choose photos for a custom wedding announcement?

Choose a clear, expressive photo that captures how your celebration felt, whether it’s a ceremony moment, a joyful candid, or a portrait together. If you include multiple images, select a mix of close-ups and wider scenes with similar lighting and colors. Leave enough visual space for your wording to remain easy to read.

Q: When should you share wedding announcements, and who should receive them?

Wedding announcements are typically shared after the ceremony, often within the first few weeks or once your photos are ready. Send them to relatives, friends, and other people you’d like to tell, especially those who weren’t present. There’s no need to include an RSVP unless you’re also inviting recipients to a separate celebration.

Explore custom wedding announcement ideas to share your just-married news with family and friends. Browse the selection with your wedding style and favorite photos in mind, and consider wording that highlights your names, wedding date, and a personal message—making it clear you’re announcing your marriage rather than inviting guests.
