Wedding Announcement Ideas For Couples

Q: What are some creative wedding announcement ideas for couples?

Choose a theme that reflects your relationship, such as a favorite travel destination, a shared hobby, or the place you first met. Pair a wedding portrait with a headline like “We Said I Do,” or use a photo collage to tell your story. For a more understated announcement, let your names, wedding date, and a heartfelt message take center stage.

Q: What should we write on a wedding announcement?

Include both partners’ names, the wedding date, and a short message sharing the news. You can also mention the city or venue and add a personal note. For example: “With full hearts, we’re delighted to share that we were married on June 14 in Charleston, South Carolina. Thank you for being part of our story.” Unlike an invitation, an announcement does not need an RSVP request.

Q: Which photos work well for wedding announcements?

Choose a photo that captures your connection and keeps both of you clearly visible. A ceremony moment, a joyful candid, or a classic portrait can all work beautifully. If you include several images, mix a couple’s portrait with a meaningful detail or celebratory moment. Leave enough visual breathing room for your announcement wording to remain easy to read.

Q: When should couples send wedding announcements?

Wedding announcements are typically sent after the ceremony, often within the first few months. You can prepare the wording beforehand and add a wedding photo once your images are ready. If more time has passed, it is still thoughtful to share your news with a warm message rather than worry about a strict deadline.

Q: How can we announce an elopement or private wedding?

Keep the message joyful and focus on sharing your milestone. A headline such as “We Eloped!” or “A Little Ceremony, a Lot of Love” pairs well with a favorite photo and your wedding date. You might add, “We exchanged vows in a private ceremony and are thrilled to share our happy news with you.” If you plan to host a celebration later, send the event details in a separate invitation.

Explore wedding announcement ideas for couples ready to share the news that they’re married. Browse designs to find a look that suits your celebration, and consider wording that highlights your names, wedding date, and a personal message for loved ones. Keep the focus on your just-married news so recipients can easily distinguish your announcement from an invitation.
