Floral Blankets For Reading Nooks

Drape a floral blanket over the arm of your reading chair for a relaxed look, or fold it across the seat for a more polished finish. Pair it with a solid-colored pillow that picks up one hue from the floral pattern to bring the nook together.

Delicate blossoms complement cottage-inspired reading nooks, while bold botanical patterns suit a more modern setting. Vintage-inspired florals pair beautifully with wood furniture and collected decor, and watercolor-style blooms add a soft, artistic touch.

Start with the colors already in your chair, rug, or wall art. Muted pinks, creams, and greens create an understated look, while rich blues or vibrant blooms make the blanket a focal point. For a cohesive palette, repeat one or two floral accents elsewhere in the nook.

Yes. Floral blankets pair well with stripes, checks, and subtle geometric patterns when they share a common color. Let one pattern take the lead and keep the others understated, using solid-colored accents to give the eye a place to rest.

Style light-colored blooms with pastel accents for spring, then introduce brighter accessories for summer. In fall, pair floral patterns with rust, ochre, or burgundy accents. For winter, add deep-colored pillows and warm lighting while keeping the floral blanket as a cheerful focal point.
