Plaid Multicolor Blankets

A plaid multicolor blanket features intersecting stripes in several colors, creating a pattern of overlapping squares and rectangles. The combination of color and line gives plaid its distinctive look, which can feel classic, playful, or modern depending on the palette.

Look for a plaid palette that repeats one or two colors already found in your rug, curtains, or accent pillows. For a subtle look, choose muted shades with similar tones. To create a focal point, pair a brighter multicolor plaid with solid-colored furniture.

Yes. Use a shared color to connect plaid with floral, striped, or geometric accents. Vary the scale of the patterns—for example, pair a bold plaid with a smaller print—and include solid-colored pieces to keep the overall look balanced.

Drape it over the arm of a sofa for a relaxed accent, fold it across the foot of a bed for a more tailored look, or place it over a reading chair to introduce color. Let enough of the blanket show to highlight the intersecting lines and varied shades.

A plaid multicolor blanket can make a thoughtful gift for a housewarming, wedding, anniversary, or Christmas celebration. Choose colors that reflect the recipient’s taste or home decor, and add a card explaining why the pattern made you think of them.
