Floral Blankets For Family Rooms

Drape a floral blanket over the arm of a sofa or fold it across the back of an accent chair to add color and pattern. For a coordinated family room, pair the floral design with solid-colored pillows that pick up one or two shades from the print.

Soft pink, lavender, and muted green floral patterns create a gentle contrast with beige, gray, or cream furniture. For a bolder look, consider floral designs with navy, burgundy, or golden yellow accents. Repeat an accent color elsewhere in the room to tie the look together.

Floral blankets can pair well with stripes, checks, or geometric patterns when the designs share a similar color palette. Vary the visual detail—for example, combine a detailed floral print with a simple stripe—and include solid-colored accents to keep the room from feeling too busy.

Start with the mood and style of your room. Delicate blossoms can complement a cottage-inspired space, while bold, graphic flowers can suit a modern setting. Vintage-inspired floral patterns pair well with traditional decor. Choose colors that connect with your rug, curtains, or wall art.

Pastel blooms can bring a spring-inspired touch, while bright floral patterns add color for summer. Rust, plum, and gold accents complement fall decor, and deep-colored florals pair beautifully with winter textures. Changing the surrounding pillows and decorative accents can give the same floral blanket a different seasonal feel.
