Photo Wedding Announcement Invitations

Q: What is the difference between photo wedding announcements and photo wedding invitations?

Photo wedding invitations ask guests to attend your celebration and include event details and RSVP instructions. Photo wedding announcements share the news that you are married, often with a favorite wedding portrait. Choose wording that makes it clear whether you are inviting someone to an upcoming event or celebrating a marriage that has already taken place.

Q: What information should we include on photo wedding announcement invitations?

For an invitation, include your names, the wedding date and time, the venue and location, and how guests should RSVP. A wedding website can provide additional details. For an announcement, include your names, your marriage date, and a short message sharing your happy news. If you are inviting recipients to a celebration after the wedding, include that event’s details separately.

Q: How do we choose a photo for wedding announcements or invitations?

Choose a clear, high-resolution photo that captures your connection as a couple. Engagement portraits work well for invitations, while ceremony photos or newlywed portraits suit announcements. Consider how the image will look alongside your wording, leaving enough visual space for the text to remain easy to read.

Q: How can we word a photo wedding announcement after an elopement?

Keep the wording warm and direct, such as, “We said ‘I do!’ With full hearts, we’re happy to share that we were married on June 12 in Charleston.” You can add a personal line about your celebration. If a reception will follow, clearly state that recipients are invited and include the date, location, and RSVP details.

Q: How can we make photo wedding announcements and invitations feel personal?

Pair a meaningful photo with wording that sounds like you, whether your style is formal, playful, or heartfelt. Draw color inspiration from your wedding palette or the setting in your image, and choose lettering that complements the mood. A brief personal message can help tell your story without crowding the essential details.

Share your wedding news with photo wedding announcement invitations that put your favorite picture together at the center. Browse designs for announcing your marriage or inviting loved ones to celebrate, and choose a look that suits your photo and the message you want to share.
