Striped Blankets For Holiday Decor

Drape a striped blanket over a sofa arm, fold one across the foot of a bed, or place one over an accent chair for a festive touch. Repeat a color from the stripes in nearby pillows, ornaments, or mantel accents to bring the room together.

Red and white stripes evoke candy canes and classic Christmas decor, while green and cream pair beautifully with garlands. Blue and white can complement Hanukkah decorations or a wintry palette. For a more understated look, try gray and ivory stripes with metallic accents.

Stripes pair well with plaid, snowflake motifs, and festive florals when the patterns share a color or two. Let one pattern lead, then use the others as accents. Solid-colored pillows can help balance the mix and keep your holiday decor from feeling too busy.

Yes. Pair stripes with wreaths, warm lighting, and heirloom ornaments for a classic holiday look. For a modern approach, combine a simple striped pattern with sculptural accents and a restrained color palette. The surrounding details help set the mood.

Swap holiday-themed pillows and ornaments for solid accents that pick up a color in the blanket. Pair red stripes with cream or navy, or carry blue and gray stripes into a winter palette. A striped blanket can remain a decorative layer long after the seasonal decorations come down.
