Wedding Menu Cards For Plated Dinners

Wedding menu cards for plated dinners typically list each course in serving order, such as the first course, entrée, and dessert. Include dish names and brief descriptions of key ingredients or accompaniments. You can also add your names, wedding date, or a short welcome message for a personal touch.

You can list all entrée selections with a note such as “Your preselected entrée will be served,” or tailor each menu to the guest’s chosen meal. If you list multiple options, separate them clearly so guests understand they are selections rather than additional courses.

Place a menu card at each place setting so guests can preview the meal once they sit down. Common placements include centered on a charger, tucked into a folded napkin, or positioned just above the plate. Keep the dish descriptions visible and coordinate placement with your reception team.

Repeat design elements from your invitations, place cards, and table numbers, such as typography, colors, borders, or a monogram. For a plated dinner, a clear course-by-course layout can complement both formal and relaxed reception styles while keeping the menu easy to read.

Include dessert if it is part of the planned meal, whether it is a plated course or wedding cake served later. You may also list wine pairings or signature cocktails in a separate section. If drinks have their own bar menu, keep the dinner card focused on the courses served at the table.
