How to Get the Best Shutterfly Christmas Card Deals

Finding affordable Christmas cards doesn’t mean giving up the photos, designs, or personal touches you want. With the right Christmas card deals, you can create custom cards for less by shopping seasonal sales, using promo codes, choosing budget-friendly card options, and planning your order around the best times to save.

Shutterfly offers Christmas card sales and special offers throughout the holiday season, along with plenty of ways to keep the cost of your order down. If you’re looking for cheap Christmas cards that still feel personal and polished, these tips can help you find the best deals and make the most of your holiday card budget.

1. Look for Christmas Card Deals and sales

One of the easiest ways to save on Christmas cards is to take advantage of sales and special offers throughout the holiday season. Shutterfly regularly offers Christmas card deals that can help lower the cost of your order, especially if you have some flexibility around when you buy.

Before placing your order, check Shutterfly’s current Special Offers for available promotions and promo codes. It can also help to watch for major seasonal sales, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when Christmas card discounts may be available.

2. Order Early for More Savings

Getting a head start on your custom Christmas card orders can save you both money and stress. Shutterfly often runs early-bird sales before the holiday rush, so planning ahead can score you bigger discounts. Plus, you’ll have plenty of time to review and perfect your design without the worry of last-minute shipping costs.

3. Choose Budget-Friendly Christmas Card Options

When designing your Christmas cards on Shutterfly, there are a few specific choices that can help keep costs down:

Flat Cards: Opt for flat cards rather than folded ones. They offer the same beautiful designs and customization options but are generally more affordable.
Standard Smooth Cardstock: While Shutterfly offers premium paper upgrades, choosing the standard smooth cardstock is an excellent way to get great quality at a lower price.
Square Trim: Go for a simple, square trim instead of more elaborate trims like rounded or scalloped edges, which can increase the price.

These options are perfect for keeping your cards budget-friendly while still looking stylish and festive.

4. Order the Right Number of Christmas Cards

Knowing how many Christmas cards you actually need can help you avoid spending money on cards that never get sent. Before ordering, put together your mailing list and count the households, friends, family members, coworkers, and others you plan to send cards to.

Consider adding a few extra cards for anyone you may have forgotten or decide to include later. Having your list ready before you order makes it easier to choose the right quantity without significantly overordering.

5. Save on Christmas Card Envelopes

Another way to save on Christmas cards is to stick with standard white envelopes instead of upgrading to custom, pre-lined, or colored options. Standard white envelopes are included with your cards, making them the most budget-friendly choice for mailing your Christmas greetings.

If convenience is a higher priority, custom envelopes include free recipient address printing, which can save time when preparing your cards to mail. Just keep in mind that upgrading your envelopes will increase the overall cost of your order.

6. Shop Black Friday and Cyber Monday Christmas Card Deals

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the biggest holiday shopping events of the year, making them important times to check for Christmas card deals. If you haven’t ordered your cards yet, look for Shutterfly Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers that may help you save on your holiday card order.

Because these sales fall later in the season, it helps to have your photos, mailing list, and favorite Christmas card designs ready ahead of time. That way, you can take advantage of an available deal and place your order without starting the entire card-making process at the last minute.
